M/s. Kran Consulting Pvt. Ltd, and IT firm approached GIFT to formulate and conduct training to their personnel on macroeconomic indicators. Training modules were prepared and a total of 10 sessions on macro-economic indicators were conducted during May and June 2011.

Santosh Kumar Dash holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Economics Area at the Institute of Finance Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Anand. His research focuses on empirical macroeconomics and public finance issues. He studies issues such as inflation, growth, and current account sustainability in macroeconomics, and state finance, GST, and debt sustainability in public finance.
His scholarly investigations encompass a diverse array of topics within macroeconomics, including but not limited to inflation dynamics, and the sustainability of current account balances. His research also extends to the realm of public finance, where he studies the state finance, the Goods and Services Tax (GST), and the sustainability of public debt.
He earned his PhD in Economics from Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), Chennai. Previously he has worked at has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation, Kerala, IFMR LEAD, Chennai; Center of Excellence in Fiscal Policy and Taxation (CEFT), Bhubaneswar; Research and Information Systems for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi; National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), New Delhi; Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), New Delhi; and Foundation for Public Economics and Policy Research in various research positions.
His research work has been published in several journals including Economic Modelling, Journal of Quantitative Economics, Economics Bulletin, and Economic and Political Weekly. He has also presented his research work at a number of national and international conferences. He has served as a referee to the journals Economic Modelling, Empirical Economics, and International Economics.

Dr Md Zakaria Siddiqui is currently working as an Economist at Department of Social Services, Government of Australia.
Prior to this, Dr Siddiqui served as an Associate Professor at GIFT and other prominent institutes such as BITS Hyderabad,Institute of Economics and Peace,University of South Australia and IDSK Kolkatta.
He has carried out Data driven Applied Economics and Public Policy research with themes such as Inclusive Growth, Public
Health and Nutrition; Informal labour, Women and Work; Political Economy of Energy Sector Policies;
Energy Poverty; Skilled Migration and Development; Positive Peace as a predictor of political/social
instability; and Development and Democracy.
Parma Chakravartti is with the Health Policy Research Unit, Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi and is working on issues related to health financing in India.
Dr. Chakravartti holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her doctoral research is on the growth and distributive effects of fiscal policies in India.
She has worked as an Assistant Professor in Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation, Kerala and School of Liberal Studies, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi. Her areas of interests are public finance, macroeconomics and development economics and she has worked in various government organizations, National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, Planning Commission of India in Financial Resources Division, Fourteenth Finance Commission and Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. Dr. Chakravartti also holds an interest in Time Series Econometrics. She has delivered lectures on Time Series Econometrics for IES-Officer Trainees in IES Unit at Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi.
Her research publications are in the area of forecasting GDP growth for India, issues on debt and deficits in India in reputed journals.
Working as Assistant Professor of Commerce/ Management in Gulati Institute of
Finance and Taxation. She was awarded Ph.D. in the field of Commerce from
Department of Commerce, School of Business Management and Legal Studies,
University of Kerala. The area of the doctoral work was finance with the topic titled
‘Inflation and Investment Management – A Study among Salaried Class’.
She is qualified with M.Com., M.Phil., Ph.D. and cleared National Eligibility test of
UGC with JRF. Preceding to join the institution, served as FDP Substitute faculty in
PG Department of Commerce, All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram and also
worked as the Guest faculty in PG Department of Commerce, M.M.S. Government
Arts and Science College, Malayinkeezhu, Thiruvananthapuram.
The areas of interest are finance, investment management, international trade and
business. Published research articles and concept papers in UGC care list journals
and other peer reviewed journals. Furthermore presented papers in various
international and national seminars/ conferences/ workshops
Dr. Akhil M P is an Assistant Professor (Commerce/Management) at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT), Thiruvananthapuram. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Kerala in the domain of Commerce. His research deals with understanding the challenges and potential of newly introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. He has cleared UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) as well as National Eligibility Test (NET) in Commerce. He also comes with industry experience in Central School Education sector, Ministry of Education, Govt of India. Prior to joining GIFT, Dr. Akhil was an Assistant Professor at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and Alliance University, Bengaluru. His work has featured in journals and books indexed in Scopus/ABDC/WoS databases. He has also presented his research in a number of national and international conferences. His current research areas includes Taxation, Public finance, Green Finance & Climate Finance, SDG, Circular Economy etc.
Nirmal Roy V P is currently Assistant Professor of Social Science at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation. He has done his doctoral research at the Madras Institute of Development Studies Chennai and MPhil from Centre for Development Studies Thiruvananthapuram.
Prior to joining GIFT, he was with the Department of Economics Kannur University as Assistant Professor, Indian Institute for Human Settlements Bengaluru as an External Consultant and the Kerala State Planning Board as a Research Assistant and Consultant.
His research interests are broadly in the area of Development Studies with emphasis on Financialisation, Fintech and Property
