In a developing country like India, aiming for developed nation status, sustainable and inclusive development hinges on effective financing strategies. Research on government financing for development is vital to bridge development gaps, mobilise domestic revenues, and leverage investments for long-term growth. In Kerala, with its strong social sector focus and decentralised governance, understanding financing mechanisms for community development is key to enhancing grassroots participation, reducing inequalities, and ensuring that development reaches the last mile in an accountable and efficient manner. This research pillar encompasses a broad range of topics, including Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), inclusive growth, fiscal decentralisation, evaluation of central and state schemes, rural and urban development, public-private partnerships, microfinance, community development, Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) and Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP), rural employment, public health outcomes, role of cooperatives, financing coastal regions, financial inclusion, remittances, social impacts assessment, CSR funds, international community financing models, financing for human capital formation etc.
