Dr. Renjith P. S. is an Assistant Professor at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (affiliated with Cochin University of Science and Technology), Thiruvananthapuram. His research interests lie in Public Finance, Macrofiscal Policy, Applied Econometrics, Economics of Development, and Economics of Finance.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Madras School of Economics, where his doctoral research examined the sustainability, coordination, and growth implications of sub-national debt in India. He earned his M.A. in Econometrics from the University of Madras and his B.A. in Economics from Mar Ivanios College (University of Kerala).

Dr. Renjith has published extensively in reputed Scopus-indexed journals such as the Journal of Quantitative Economics, Journal of Asia Pacific Economy, Journal of Public Affairs, Margin: The Journal of Applied Economic Research, Public Finance and Management, and Indian Public Policy Review. His academic contributions span the areas of fiscal sustainability, public debt management, debt–growth nexus, fiscal consolidation, fiscal federalism, and goods and services tax (GST).

He has presented papers at several leading national and international conferences, including the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF), and has been invited as a resource person, discussant, and session chair in various academic and professional training programmes.

Prior to joining GIFT, he served as Assistant Professor of Economics at Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, and held research positions at the Centre for Development Studies and the Madras School of Economics, contributing to projects supported by the ICSSR, Fifteenth Finance Commission, and UNICEF.
